Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Since the mid 80s, Angela Evelyn has worked on film and television. The actress has won several awards, among them sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett, her sister, and their mother moved into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. Their father had divorced their mother. Bassett saw James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play while she was still in high school, and realised that she was an actor and was looking to pursue. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) on African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale In 1997, they tied the knot. Qualification: B.A. at Yale's School of Drama. conferred a Master of Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett back in the year 1980. She attended the school following: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for seventh graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th & 9th grades as well as Boca Ciega High School.
